Prime Video had the film listed as being from 2008, so when putting it on I was thinking: “wow, this looks really cool retro” and then when Leslie Nielsen (1926-2010) entered the screen: “he looks young”.
So, 1956!! “Forbidden Planet” looks great. Wonderful stages, the atmosphere of the earliest Dr. Who productions and -indeed- a 30 year old Nielsen in a serious part.
We are in the far future and mankind manages to fly to every corner of the galaxy. One mission is sent to a far away planet for a recovery mission. When arriving, there prove to be survivers, but he they do not want to be rescued.
