This wonderfull film is a bit of a light version of “Eternal Sunshine Of A Spotless Mind“. Both films have a weird and far-fetched idea worked is out into an ironic comedy, but Michel Gondry worked out his idea into much further extremes. It would be a shame to give away the idea behind “Cold Souls” because this would definately spoil the watch, but think of something between “Being John Malkovich” and the earlier mentioned film and you are halfway.
Paul Giamatti is great playing himself as an actor with a midlife crisis. His downright flat view on life it recognisable and amusing and leads him to make a drastic decision. His wife is played by Emily Watson and her mimics when hearing what has happened is unforgetable. Indeed, a very enjoyable watch.
