Here we have a Mexican film about a man who leaves Mexico City in order to kill himself. He wants to go to a small village that he often visited as a child and spend his last days there. “The man” ends up sleeping in the barn of an old woman. The lives of the common man of the countryside makes him change his mind about his plans.
“Japón” is mostly a film showing the beautiful Mexican landscape and creating a moody atmosphere. There is only little dialogue and nothing much happens. Still the film is quite enjoyable, but 2,5 was a bit too much. Overall a nice film though.
